Do STi Drivers Say Hi To Regular WRX Drivers

I couldn't see the guy, it was dark (around 9:30 pm). As far as WRX in Stockton, I see may be about 1-3 a month top. I drive '03Plat.Slv Sedan. What model/color is your ride?

I used to have an '02 bugeye sedan, and now I have an '04 STi, and I have always waved at any Subaru I see on the road.
Most of the time, its the younger drivers that wave back.

You know what's funny too. Danhtao (who's a stockton guy on this forum) he seems to see a ton of WRX's in Stockton. Tops I see 4-5 regular ones a month. Wagons I see a lot.
random stockton info
dude, there's tons of subies in stockton now
just gotta go driving more
the trick is that the newer generation doesn't know about the community, and some even despise it,
in lodi a few months ago i waved to a black bug eye wrx and he gave me the finger, that lil *****
eariler last year i tried to do something in the stockton community, made some flyers and stuff and stuck them on every subie that i've seen, especially at delta and in the mall.
oh man bad move
i think i know that guy with the blue sti, he was one of the first 3 or so in stockton. the cousin to one of my co-workers, 100% filipino and totally ignorant of i-club. the guy kinda ignored me when i told him about i-club
there's the white subie in town, originally rally blue, with the red sparcos and the hks exhaust, the blow off and everything else. chick drive's it, named Nancy, and PDQWRX knows about her
from what i was able to glean from a few quick conversations with her, she's half half toward the subaru community
there's a few others,
jonruhga04sti has an sti with a vishnu setup, i introduced him to i-club and he's somewhat active.
just to let some people know whose in stockton, i wrecked my 03 RS on Sunday night, so i'm currently looking for a new car...i have a 89 rx-7 that might be an option, among other things, but whatever car i get, i'll be buying a new i-club sticker
the bad thing about it is that at the body shop that i go to (Angkor) i saw a silver sti front bumper on top of a junk heap ouch
other points of interest, there are 3 subies that work at kaiser, one wrx wagon, a red 01 2.5 rs, and a baja. i'm trying to get the RS guy to go with me to an autocross or one of the meets or a drive, but school keeps him tied up lately. there's more, but i can't think off the top of my head at the moment
just gotta go driving more

This was my reply to a similar post in the Bay Area sightings thread regarding the attitudes of STi owners. I have an STi, and I have had my share of dirty looks or dissing from other Suby owners (including a few other STi's) when I try to say whats up. The door swings both ways.
Ya, I admit.. when I first got my STi, I didn't realize that Suby owners are all cool with each other. My last couple cars were Hondas. So I was so used to the mentality of doggin the Integra next to me. Now that I've been on this site, I've seen that you get nothin but love from other Subies. I didn't know any better to wave back, but I do my best now. My bad, to those who may have waved and thought I was being a jerk. Holler if you ever see me in my silver STi on 80 between Emeryville and Vtown.

Your car is only 30 grand, don't act like you're so l33t, if you were that rich you'd be driving a 996 turbo. =P
I drive an STi, and i try to wave whenever i can, but sometimes i just don't see you because i'm concentrating on the road, the incoming traffic on the other side of the road is not high on my priority list.
One time in davis there was someone in a black GC or something, i couldn't tell if it was a wagon or a coupe, but he was screaming something and i thought he was yelling at me, until i realized that he was sayin whats up, but by that time his C-pillar was already past my A-pillar.
Sorry dude
Oh an I did have a sticker at Hammy, its just that its on my wing and its black on JBP hehe

A few weeks ago I was driving my friends 911. Another 911 approached us and I asked him if Porsches waved to each other. He said no and did not seem to understand the question. I told him a lot of Subaru drivers waved and he seemed suprised. Back in the 60s they did wave. In fact ALL sports cars waved to each other. It didn't matter what the make was. The point is we are the ones who are throwbacks. Most people, and that includes most Subaru drivers, don't understand the whole concept. Just because someone doesn't wave to you doesn't mean it is an insult. So what is this talk about beating the crap out of a complete stranger just because he didn't wave. But then I guess it's easy to be brave on the internet.

when I had my bugeye WRX back in 2001-2002 most WRX's waved. Now that they are so common a lot less waving happens. I have waved many times and I never get a reaction so nowdays I do nothing until they wave. All STi drivers I encountered waved.

There are only two STi's in my area me and one other guy with a wrb STi with gold wheels. And i have wave and honked a few times and got a blank stair but yesterday my car was parked on the street and i was getting in my freinds jeep and the guy slowed down honked and waved. There must have been so many i-clubers that have waved and honked at this guy that he finnaly got the picture and now he is one of us. So if some one does not wave back, honk and wave some more, one day they person will catch on.
was in fremont yesterday, goin to my friends house. im in my wrx, and homeboy was in a blue STi. i see him pull ahead of me and then he stops at the stop sign. since i need to make a right soon i pop into the late behind him. then he proceeds to peel out in front of me?? what an idiot... im getting sick of driving a wrx, especially when theres so many ignorante drivers out there. so far the wrx has only given me unwanted attention, and im just trying to get from point A to point B in one piece. what idiot would think i would try to race my wrx against an STi anyway?
