Do I really need uninsured motorist coverage?

I'm confused. I have comprehensive and collision coverage. If I was involved in an accident where the other was at fault and doesn't have insurance, will my insurance pay for my damages??

I do not agree. I have personally found my uninsured motorist coverage more valuable than the rest, even my comp.

So does "hit and run" fall under UIM or comprehensive coverage?? I just checked with my insurance, adding UMI(100K coverage) is like $20 more a year.

HnR falls under UIM, not comp. Its VERY VERY worth it. I have avoided $2000 in deductible costs in the last year because of it.
