"Probable Cause" can be anything, from not properly tying up your dog (if he is riding in the back of a truck), no seat belts, cracked tail lens, or looking like a 'known' suspect, then they search and get you for something else. They have been doing it for years, its just now, in a court of law, its legal. A lawyer will not be able to or have a hard time trying to prove that this was unlawfully obtain evidence.

Thats why the only way you can somewhat protect your own *** is with video w/ sound (like this guy) or having a lawyer "on container."

Technically the cop is not guilty of anything, maybe a little lying, but thats what they do (to catch real crooks off guard) its there job to do this all day, catch lairs by being a lier, fighting fire with fire. Its just sad that there is no professionalism, and they label you as "guilty till proved innocent." Thats the real problem. I mean they pride themselves as being model citizens and set there sites and morals so high that no average citizen can compete, the police end up not trusting anyone except themselves because of all the lairs they encounter and further detaching and disconnecting their reality from the Average Joe's' reality. In the eyes of the force, he did no wrong, he was doing his job and he will probably just get slap on the wrist ("no pay" as the newspaper says, but we'll never know the truth). But because this was all caught on tape we now know how all this went down and its obvious that this is "harassment" and "disturbing the peace" which are both unlawful and unprofessional, but who is going to fine or sue the force? the FBI? I doubt it.

And this guy is not guilt of having an attitude, there is no law against having an attitude (sounded like the officer has a worst one, plus anger management issues, and he legally carries a gun and has a prominent position in the force! scary). I mean most of us were all there, 20 years old and "thinking" we lived in a "free" world and spoke how ever we wanted to speak. Secondly One person's perception of attitude can be different as another, and in this case his attitude was in the form of simply "not comply" by saying he rather keep private information private which is legal (while being detained, or arrested, one can keep silent or speak freely, of course both can help and hurt you).

And finally there is the issue, "if you are innocent what do you have to hide?" Well that is not the case here, There are so many laws being passed, many victim less, revenue generating laws that an average tax-paying citizen can not keep up with all of them and abide by all of them. The way the system works now is that with all these little laws out, it benefits the police more to bother motorists and give them a fine then to do real investigation work. This bothers me because they should be spending there time with more important things like crimes that involve victims.

But we are driving on their roads...kind of have to pick and choose battles, but would you want your son or daughter being treated this way?
Isn't it a federal offense to video tape police w/ sound? I think you need special paperwork (ie due to the patriot act), for it to be considered "freedom of press"...

Can someone verify this?

^^^^^^ are u a cop? If so I hope you dont pull me over. Because when I ask why am I being pulled over I would hate for you to also say that you will come up with a reason.

Who cares if the kid was a smart ***, and who cares the reason he has the camera in his car. The fact is no matter how that kid acts the cop should be completely professional. This was clearly not the case. Just think about how this officer acted and remember he is carrying a gun. In my opinion it seems like he has a short fuse. That combined with a gun is pretty scary.

ok i found my example: at my college, there is 1 street entrance wher you have to show your ID to get in, just flash it to the security guard and he doesnt say anything.

Some kids stroll right in "ive been going her for 3 years dont you recognize me security guard?" NO YOU STUPID F! the security guard sees 1000 kids a day, plus they arent the smartest of the bunch!

bottom line: respect your schools security, show your ID, deal with the standard procedure...you should show your ID with pride knowing that there aren't people sneaking in to steal your hard-drive with all your work etc etc.

The Dumbass kid shouldnt have been a Dick and the cop wouldve been totally cool, despite his own issues he has
