+1 for that....and why was that guy videotaping a normal drive to meet his friend?
@ "I don't have to have a reason to pull you over" and the fact that the cop claims there are all these problems in the area but he wastes ~12 minutes harassing this kid and how he said he has the kid on tape swirving in the roadway but on the kids tape you can see that the cop was perpendicular to the kid, meaning the kid came at him from the side

The kid's story changes several times and he does seem to give the cop attitude. If he'd just said he was waiting for his buddy, the cop might've just told him to leave.
I'm not saying the kid deserved the response he got but there's something fishy here... Considering this is his 3rd encounter with the PD (http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/15/1522.asp and the assault case he mentions), the fact that he wired his entire car to film his surroundings, and he's only just turned 20, I suspect he intentionally provoked the situation.

True. Whether the kids intentions are good or for monetary reasons (hello lawsuit) that cop needs to be off the streets permanently. But I still think there's more to the story...

perhaps the local law enforcment is notorious for that kind of stuff (judging from the other article, I'll assume so) and he records and provokes them for evidence to get them off the street?
Good point. Or who knows, maybe he did get assaulted by an off duty officer and is paranoid as **** now.
Either way, I'm sure that a lot of that cop's previous arrests are about to be scrutinized and there's about to be a ****load of lawsuits.

dirty cop goes to jail...FTW for the public, FTL for his *******
This was really scary to watch - a VERY similar thing happened to me in Los Altos hill with the Santa Clara county sheriff. He acted IDENTICALLY to this police officer, and of course when it went to trial the "Video tape disappeared"
It's very unfortunate but sometimes you get a horrible cop, for whatever reason feels its his duty to take out his issues on you. Funny thing also - he mentioned his mic and camera, the scary thing is - 80% of the time the police officer will cover the mic and make up what he said in court. The video tape and mic is for the protection of the officer AND the civillian, but it seems like its just being abused...
+1 to the kid who videotaped it.

This is why it never hurts to carry a Digicam with a 2GB memory card and some fresh batteries in it, so you can record for a while should something like this happen to you.
Or carry a tape recorder.
