if you also check apple.com and click on "find iphone 3g", they actually tell you which apple stores have the 8g, 16g black, and 16g white in stock. if each store sells out, they should get restocked soon because I heard apple is flooding the market

 

They have them in stock in the apple store in SF off of Stockton buuutt you gotta stand in line.

I went to the Apple store in Walnut Creek before it opened thinking I'd walk in and out with one in record time. NOT! I got there (Monday 14th) before the place opened and there was already a line. I left and went to MoreBeer for some homebrew supplies and came back. The line was even longer. So I got in line to fine out what the scoop was. An Apple employee came out and told us there were no phones in the store but, a truck was on it's way. He also said he didn't know how many phones would be on the truck. At this time there had to be about 55 people in line. I left. A few hours later I called and asked how many phones arrived on the truck and they told me none did. Brutal. BTW, I special ordered from my local ATT store. I'll have my phone next week.

 

I checked this before I went to the Walnut Creek store. It said they had them in stock. They sold out the previous day.

 

apple is either the smartest or dumbest company in the world.

i think they are trying to push nintendo as the most asinine company for not supplying people their products...

sigh...

almost 2 weeks later and still, all 5 stores i contacted, are out of iphones.

but if i order one through them, i can get one 10-21 business working days...

 

got my black 16gig on saturday from stoneridge mall

my buddy went their this morning when they opened and they gave him a "tag" that said to come back before 6pm tonight, and that they would still have plenty enough for everybody who got this tag.

so he went back around 3pm and got his white 16gig. only stood in line 5 minutes

 

wow dude. I preordered one a while back from ATT. They said 7-10 days I said ok. 5 days later I get a call telling me my phone was there.

 

yeah... i shoulda just pre-friggin-ordered..

i did call the pleasanton one.

they said like 400 people were in line and they all got one...

maybe there is hope.

 

I was at the stanford shopping center Apple store and they had iphones.

i'm wondering though, if I go to the AT&T store will they sell me one for the promo price even if i'm not eligable?

 

doubtful.

you either have to be:

1. eligible for an equipment upgrade, i.e. no more contract.
2. a new subscriber
3. an existing iphone owner who purchased between such and such a date.

 

Will they sell me the promo price if im not eligible at the Apple store?
