I got mine while I was at work....err, on my lunch break...after they dropped the price of the first gens back in the day. I had to wait the rest of the day at work only able to look at the box until I got home to activate it!

 

They are sold at the Apple store also.

 

maybe i'm a complete dolt, but i called the palo alto store and i could figure out their voice mail system...

they have some at all the apple stores in SF (stonestown, downtown, and chestnut street)

my girlfriend got one from stonestown this morning but she had to stand in line for an hour

Took us an hour and a half at our local Apple store on release day to get one. Took us less than five minutes once we were in the store to simply give a little info, and walk out the door...

 

the two att stores in sf off of market sont have any. tomorrow they said 9am
