well if she admits that she ran the red light to the police report then... you might have it in the bag already... if she hadnt run the red light nothing would of happened... unless she told the police officer another story that you didnt get to hear...

 

Yeah I did not get a written statement but I do have the report number. The officer told me I can get an official copy of the report. You best bet I will get that report first thing tomorrow.

I hope the driver will stay honest and keep to what really happened. It will make things easier in the end. However who knows, people are shady and will do anything to get out of the bullish.

At any rate, that intersection does have cameras, not "red light" cameras but normal cameras. So i will inquire about that tomorrow as well. I am going to cover all my basis to move this along quickly and be back on the road.

glad you;re ok. But if that was my car, I would definitely try to have the insurance co. total it and get a new/other sti. You might not want to part with your baby, but life holds new and better things for you.....lol.

Order a copy of the police rep (your insurance will do the same). And don't worry about the other 3 people in the other car, no insurance company would use their statements anyways.

Even if they change their story and the PR doesn't confirm your story, with no witnesses your insurance will likely side with you anyways.

Sorry to hear about your car, i totalled my jeep 4-5 months ago I know how it all works unfortunately. Def sucks *****. (lady ran into me also on red light!)

 

Basically I heard her say "everything he said was correct". Who knows what she may say down the line. All I know is my car is on some serious hurt **** and it'll most likely be totaled. That will suck but I will move on. Oh well imma try for another 05 STI. So **** it.. we shall see what happens as the weeks come. It'll suck to be upside down but thats life... and at least I have a life to talk about.

I am happy I am breathing and well. However, it sucks to look at my car in this shape. Everyone be careful because it can happen in a blink of an eye.

I was in a similar accident a while back in a very similar 2.5RS, but only the front was damaged (about like yours, maybe more on the other side of the front) and was totaled. I imagine yours will be totaled, just be thankful you're ok and pick out a good STi replacement, good luck with everything.

 

i don't think it will be totalled. i hit a deer going 65 and it did more damage than that in the front. if the hit in the rear didn't move the strut tower they will probably just need to replace the fender, and the doorskin.

 

As for whether or not it'll be totaled. "Your Mileage May Vary". It'll depend on the inspection and the insurance company. For some, their insurance would repair the damn thing. For others, they'll total it. So it's pretty much a crap shoot.

 

totalled... 50/50 chance, it looks pretty close.
