Damn my suby just got bapped bad! (pics)

Cliff Notes:

Somebody ran a red light and nailed my baby. It looks pretty fawking bad and I am wondering if it will be totaled or not. Hard to say but all I know is that I am so fawking mad at the moment. Sure its just a car and my life is still here. I'm ok and the other cars passengers are ok, they had a toddler in the car.

Still though, I put a lot of work into my car and it sucks to see that possibly down the drain and gone. Only time and insurance adjusters will be able to tell its fate

The damage is to the hood, left front corner, and rear left quarter panel and passenger door.

I wish people paid attention more often! Oh well, It sucks but not much I can do but be happy no one is dead or seriously hurt.

How this all went down:

I was only 200-500 feet from my house. Waiting at a red light. Got the green proceeded into the intersection when I am half way into it and see something coming at me.

Before I could even blink I am hit "left front" and my car spun about 90 degrees to the right. Somehow I was additionally tagged in the left rear. The other car goes up into the island while I end up flush with a curb as if I am parking. I think they hit me and the back side of their car kicked my quarter panel, i donno but I sure as hell was launched and it felt like a helicopter blade action.

Meanwhile, I see my bumper flying in the air doing flips and stuff, total slow motion too. Thats when it hit me, my ish is gonna be baaaaad. I quickly disengage and go into Neutral and turn the car off. I am not even sure how that instinct happened but i did that all in like a second without much thought.

I get out and do the typical OMG am I dreaming! "No you are'nt" says the little voice in my head. lol

yeah anyhow long story short its a sad sight.. Pics below.

I'll get more soon but these were taken via my iphone mins after the accident.
Well I'll keep everyone posted.

I dont think so.I had OPD on site and I dont think he gave them a ticket at all. He just took our report and that was that. She admitted her bad running the light to the police officer. However, why do i have this feeling once my insurance contacts hers it will be another story?

It's my word vs 4 people who were in the other car. i just have that feeling.

First off glad your ok! Second , I hate idiots that dont pay attention when they drive. As for being totaled it doesn't look like it. Mainly looks like just body panels but the front of the car is what took the brunt of the hit. I could be wrong but it looks worse than it might be.

Thanks for the word yall, helps a lot. It's a ****ty way to start a nice day, super nice out there today.

BTW
Has anyone done business with "Modern Auto Body" 1518 E 12th in Oakland?
Thats the shop that will be taking the car tomorrow. I picked it because its in walking distance from my house and is a "guaranteed" shop for "AAA".

Get written statement from the Police that she admitted running the red light.

Hopefully you can save her, but from what i see it might not worth it.

Well she admitted to the OPO that she ran the light, so he probably wrote it in the report. So I think you should be fine.

I would say they were going 30-40 mph, hard to say. I was going about 20 mph if that, I literally just got going from a stop light.

I am going to try my hardest to keep the car. I'd rather get **** fixed and move on but it depends on how much the damage is and what the insurance company states. If it is totaled I will be looking for another 05 STI and plan on moving all my ish over.
