OK, as long as we're doing roadkill stories...

You have not lived till you have seen a female peacock in full plumage hit by a truck.

I live in Hercules, its like the backside of the Martinez hills so we have a lot of deer. I was taking this right turn onto my street after a stop sign, it was around midnight so I couldnt see much. Next thing you know there's this deer staring at us right outside the passenger window. Sucker almost made me **** in my pants. I coulda swore it kissed my friend riding shotty it was so close!!!

Hehe, the first thing that I thought of when I saw this thread title....was the "deer killer STi"

https://www.i-club.com/forums/bay-area-15/one-only-deer-killer-sti-88267/

I'm happy to see that those brembos prevented another "deer killer," and saved you and your Suby....I'm sure the deer appreciate it too

Edit: Oh and just in case anyone is wondering....

there WAS a passenger. The guys' girlfriend was sitting shotgun, no pun intended.

I highly recommend deer whistles. They're cheap and they work. I've used them for 25 years and have seen them disuade deer from that last second jump many times. I'm a traffic safety expert and I incourage my clients to put them on their vehicles.

I have them on the front of my STi, my Mazda Tribute, and my RX7 convertible. The brand I prefer is "Deer Alert" because they have an adjustable base and can be mounted on non-level surfaces on the front of your car.

Check out www.deeralert.com, no I don't own stock in the company.

When you wash your car always give the whistles a good spray to keep out dirt and bugs. Replace them about every 5 years or so.
