CV joint replacement
Okay so I'm getting this weird noise every once in a while like a creeking sounds. It only happens from a stop and occasionally on a right turn. I think it might be the cv joint but I'm not too sure. I jacked the car up and spun the wheels trying to duplicate the sound but couldn't. Any ideas on how to diagnose something like this. Also any ballpark figures on repair if it turns out that's what I need to replace. I would take it to the dealer I believe it is still under warranty, but I have modded the suspension on my ride and they would prolly give me crap.

I had similar symptoms, but in the end it wound up being wheel bearings that really needed replacement.
How many miles are you at?
And just how "modded" is your suspension? I would for sure be taking it to an expert rather than trying to diagnose an elusive sound like this yourself, but depending on which dealership you go to- you're right that you might run into flak for the mods.
Subaru CV joints should be good for well over 100,000 miles, but wheel bearings have been known to go in 30-40,000 for some customers, at least so I've been told.

Strut tower braces, sway bars, shocks, springs and upper mounts. Right now I'm at 34,5000 miles. Any suggestions for shops that work on this stuff or dealers who might be cool with those mods?

It might be tough to get that covered under warranty seeing how almost nothing of the stock suspension is left, but LIC or Gruppe-S would be my first stop, depending on where you are geographically
- LIC in Novato,
Gruppe S in Hayward.....

I had debris in the spring seat doing the same thing... noticed the sound only in parking lots. You can identify it by spraying the hose in at the spring seat and seeing if it continues.

Now that your thread issue is solved, I've got a hijack that I hope you don't mind.... I think someone viewing this thread might be able to solve my prob.
on a similar note, when I turn right or hit a pot hole, I get a knocking sound at the front right of my car. So, I replaced my control arm and front right strut and I still can't figure out the sound. I thought it was the shocks settling in.. but it's been so long.....
I've been racing a lot recently and have taken a few jumps... and it hasn't caused me any physical problems... but the sound is annoying.
any help would be greatly appreciated
