That reminds me of Old school Roof Antenna's, just looks like its missing the motorized unit to rotate the antenna.
Do you Torrent? That's another way to get all of your shows in HD and commercial free.

You could get one that looks futuristic like this one that is a rotating unit and it looks like something out of Star Trek (kind of like a Klingon Bird of Prey ).

T-Mobile

Been on that plan for almost a year. It's awesome since I never tealk on the phone all that much. Plus T-Mobile's LTE is pretty quick and the coverage is totally decent in my area.

T-Mobile plan but yea same as the Walmart one. We used to be able to purchase directly from T-Mobile website but they pulled it down. Its still up on Walmart though. It's $30 no fees for the plan. Set up auto pay and you will be good to go.

Coverage in SF is fantastic. In LA its fine for me but Sigma Pi is just a black hole of no service. Not sure if its a coverage or personal issue for him.

I'm on wifi 70% of the time anyway. Set up a google voice number and this is what I hand out to people who needs to call me. Close friends and family still get my regular number. 90% of my communication is via Text or some sort of internet communications. This plan made the most economic sense since I barely used 20 talk minutes with my Verizon plan but always got close to my data cap.

T-mobile is doing a promo on the prepaid activation kits, you should be able to get to the $30 a month plan through this.

FREESIM if you are new line switching to T-mobile

Taking Tim's advice and ordered one of these just in case:
Winegard LNA-200 Boost XT Digital HDTV Preamplifier Winegard LNA-200 Boost XT Digital HDTV Preamplifier

I'm going to try just the dish by itself first and see how it works out. I'll use the preamp for the run to the splitter box if need be. Two runs from the splitter i'll mount near the antenna will be pretty short runs so i won't amplify those. For those I already ordered DC blocks in case I need to use the preamp.

I really just need to hit Sutro and Mission peak. Nice thing is they are nearly 180deg from each other where I live. Should be pretty easy make this work.

Tried the indoor stuff downstairs again and just won't cut it.

I have been with out cable for years. My ps3 does Netflix and that sort of thing and I have a roku that does it as well. My main living room TV is hooked up to my PC and the roku. W le used to use a friends HBOgo account.

I don't miss cable one bit.

Netflix, HBO go, hulu, pbs (free Chanel on the roku), torrent stuff, and watch sports at the bar. That covers it and then some.

Not really sure how you can get CSN other than being a subscriber.

Just have to use sites that stream live sports.. The only one i used has already been linked in this thread. I typically try not linking them publicly so they last a bit longer before getting taken down.

You may also need a pre-amp if your cable is long and signal is weak at the same time. Even without a splitter. Especially at UHF band. I have some bulk RG6 quad shield cable if you need a piece.

Also try to install a pre-amp as close to antenna as possible. Not close to a TV or a splitter. The less cable you have between antenna and a pre-amp the better. Unless you have a really strong signal. Ideally you want to mount a pre-amp on the same antenna mast.
