Customer "Project 2010 Activate Grip" Ohlins, Whiteline, and More...
Our customer Neil came to us with one overall objective...make his STi handle. We deemed this project from the start "Project 2010 Activate Grip". The moment we got our hands on it, we knew what it needed.
In order to outperform the competition you must be able to activate as much mechanical grip as possible.
Check out this ultimate handling machine that we just put together for our customer Neil.

The rear of these cars do not have adj. negative camber from the factory (no adj. arms are installed as of yet on this vehicle). The rear of these newer chassis are wishbone with a shock, not MacPherson like the fronts. Having a wishbone suspension is more dynamic, so it has more neg camber from the get go and ability to run more neg camber without the negative side effects of that like on the MacPherson style.
Running -1.5 on the front end is what we consider AGGRESSIVE street. If you look at the wheel/tire combo its a BIG setup, you want to keep as much of that tire to the ground as possible, running more and more negative camber removes that contact patch and ultimately effects every aspect of the handling. We have gone to great lengths on our race car to run as minimal negative camber as possible. More contact patch = more grip, which = better handling, which = better braking, which = better stability/balance.
Did anyone notice the 6.7* of caster

I agree...most people these days are ALL about power and nothing for being able to properly lay down that power, and/or they will skimp out on quality in certain area's of there build. Its nice to have someone understand the importance of some stuff just truly is better than others. Even though this guy was wanting fantastic performance you can also see he was going for a well rounded cosmetic look as well. Look at that big wheel/tire combo, not only that but its properly fitted (18x10 w/ a 265 tire)....we wouldn't do it any other way. This is all go and not just show!

Exactly. I love seeing 18x9.5/10 that do it for performance and not for the hella flush look. Makes me wish I could fit a big wheel tire combo and all the fancy components with it. I think the main thing is that handling is more important than power. We all know this, but I feel like people have lost sight of it recently(read; since forever). It's nice to see a car done right and ready for a built motor.
If it didn't fit properly, have the ability for a proper alignment, or was going to rub/hit stuff we wouldn't of put them on and he was aware of this. We won't just throw stuff on and say oh well that's how it fits...deal with it. We made it work and work properly. It really is nice to see these newer cars have the ability to have larger "proper fitting" combos for if/when you go to add big power.
I'm not a fan of seeing cars running around with massive amounts of negative camber and improper fitting wheel/tire combos...unless its a show car or just for the look of it, otherwise it just doesn't make sense to me from a performance standpoint. But everything has its place...and that stuff has no place in regards to "performance". But to each's own

On a side note: for a daily driver I wouldn't recommend beyond a 18x9.5 w/ a 255 tire for a max setup on one of these vehicles. When you have steep driveways, lots of undulations in roadways, and unpredictable conditions; its nice to have a little more wiggle room in the fitment. Nobody wants to have to think about having to have there wheel straight to enter/exit a driveway, or when the suspension goes into full compression if its going to take out your fender liner and/or body panels...defeats the whole purpose if you ask me. The 18x10 w/ 265's or larger really should be left for predominantly track setup's.
