I put on my license plate tilt today. So far so good, the CoCo County Sherriff didnt notice tonite, but this kid at the EmeryBay theatre parking lot did. He damn near busted a JDM pose. I'm going to go with "it came like that when I bought it" when I get pulled over for something ghey by a bored traffic officer.

its just bad timing, and it's really hard to explain things to cops. they have the instinct that never believe what people say. they deal with criminals too much, so everything they hear is a lie.

Yeah i pulled that "it was on the car when i bought it" crap when the cop asked about my intake. then he was like, so it passed smog with the intake on? i was like uhhh, yea. lmao. But ya as for the license plate tilt, thats just stupid if you ask me. DONT DRIVE ON HILLBORN ST. IN FAIRFIELD. man on my way to school today, there were like 3 motorcycle cops posted up next to eachother just waiting for someone. lol i threw my car in neutral and rolled all the way down hillborn st. FTW haha.

Be happy he didn't state ref you. Fix it tickets are easy. That's an hour or two tops of labor right there to change those parts to stock and get it signed off.

Basically you have to go to a state supported "smogging" and ref station. They give the car a thurough going over. Check EVERYTHING. So basically any modifications need to come off and you have to go to stock. Then pass. Cost you about $50 not including the cost of getting the car to stock.
You don't pass... your car stays off the road until it does.
Fix it tickets are way easier. Just need a cop to sign them off.

You go to the ref you take all your stuff off FIRST.
I got ref'd about 6 years ago in my civic. I had everything you could have on the car short of forced induction. No where near legal. I got sent. I went in with a carp stickered AEM intake. Changed everything visible to stock that couldn't get stickers. I left my cam and cam gear in (illegal) and covered the gear. Head work etc. I just put timing back to stock. passed with flying colors.
You'd have to be an idiot to go in there with stuff you KNOW is illegal and VISIBLE... AND ON YOUR TICKET.
Cost me about $38.
Sold the car a short time later.
If you get caught running catless and don't fix it you can face some pretty heavy fines. So it's just better to go in 100% stock when you get ref'd.

That's because your bro is an idiot. Why in the hell would he go to the state ref with an illegal part on his car?

Did he give you fix it tickets or a ref ticket?
If it's just fix it tickets you can have any cop sign it off. They have db testing stations too. If he said it passed then just go get it tested and get the certificate. Give that to a cop and have them sign it off. Keep that cert in your car to show any officer that pulls you over again.
Get the plate swapped and get the stock intake box in again. Or get a CARB sticker if it's available for that part.
