Check it when it's hot! It should be fine!

don't you need special coolant in WRX's?

see..I'm at 24K and I never brought my car in the dealer for services since I do my own oil/filter change every 5k and Auto Innovations takes care of my tire rotations. I was going to do another oil change today when I notice the reservoir tank was pretty darn low!

Thanks.

You'll be fine Luke. That's just the overflow tank. Mine looks like that too. Check it when your car is hot, and it'll be way more filled.

Distilled water is better than tap water, especially on engines with aluminum blocks/heads.

Question

Distilled water is better than tap water, especially on engines with aluminum blocks/heads.

Thanks,

Tap water = minerals = rust.

Distilled = clean = good.

Would the high heat the radiator is exposed to burn off any of those minerals from the tap water?

No, quite the opposite. The heat makes the minerals even more reactive. Causes something called 'scaling' which can lead to blocked coolant passages and head gasket failure.
