I do it because I want heat coming from my heater. Not angry penguins and icicles.

haha

I dont think warming up can be bad at all, unless your car is overheating.

i hate when the onramp scenario happens...like leaving a meet when your car is cold...you see the onramp and youre like YES! then you look at your needle below C...****!

well, i mean just all the initial check cycle that the computer does when normally turning on the car. It might be the ABS light that blinks last. I think that should be the same for all Subies.

A 2-5 minute warm up won't hurt anything. You should atleast let it go through the warm up cycle.
That's what I do in the mornings. I just start the car and sit there until it goes through it's "natural" warm up cycle before I start to go. Warming up your car is not a bad thing at all. The whole point of warming up your engine before driving is to:

A: get all the fluids up to running temperature, and

B: get all the fluids circulated through the system.

Granted, this is normally most beneficial in very cold climates (colder than the BA), but can also be something you need to do depending on how old or heavily modified your car is.

If there are girls coming out of your vents, I'd like to purchase your car please.
