Cold Weather. Warm up car?

Just get in the habbit of getting up 5 minutes early and do your motor the favor of letting it warm up before driving and or smashing it.

I ALWAYS let my motor warm up, especially in the mornings.

I NEVER warm up my car. Hell the book from SOA specifically tells you not to.

Just keep it out of boost until it's been fully warm for a few.

i let my RS run for 30 seconds. If im in a real hurry i just go and shift under 2000 rpms until guage hits "C"

our engines are flat, so the oil is already where it needs to be opposed to normal engines right?

i dont know how it couldnt be good, unless your radiator fan is broken and you overheat...but as long as your temperature is low i think its fine.

I just drive slow for the first 2 mins.

The onyl time I warm it up a little is if I am gonna put the baby in the car. But thats more for him than for the car.

I never warm it up. When I first turn it on, it revs a bit higher to warm up the car, so I give it a quick burst of throttle and it brings the revs down enough to take it out of park. Then I just drive a bit slow the first two minutes

I have a prius and the heater is electric at first until the engine warms up. I can get in it when it is 25º and have instant heat.

hell, if it's normal bay area temps, i just wait for all the dashboard lights to stop blinking and I'm off. Of course, i don't goose it until it is fully warmed up, but you're good to drive mellow. Driving is the best way to "warm up" the car.

That said, on colder days (45 and below to start, and car outside), it wouldn't hurt to let the car idle after starting like 30 seconds, but nothing extreme like waiting until it is fully warm, before driving away.

I warm my beast up because I love smashing on the two on ramps a few blocks from home and when it's 40* out it won't warm up in time if I just jump in and go.

A 2-5 minute warm up won't hurt anything. You should atleast let it go through the warm up cycle.
