Clutch slipping? (log posted)

Welp been having weird rpm and boost surges while learning to tune on the stock turbo under WOT. So far Ive been told that this could be happening due to the clutch slipping. Just trying to get some second opinions. Want to be aware of anything else that could be the culprit as well.

New boost solenoid, pill and wastegate actuator has been installed. The problem isnt noticable in a 1st or 2nd gear pull but very noticable in 3rd, 4th and 5th.

Cant post csv files here so I just took a SS with relevant stuff of a 3rd gear pull.

I would tend to think that a clutch slip would not be gear dependant.
The Flywheel Torque is the same in 1st gear as with 4th gear.

Can you produce the same condition by holding RPM and increasing dyno load?

Plot Vehicle Speed vs RPM.
Clutch slip should be worse in higher gears as you putting more load on the drivetrain.

no 4wd dyno i can test it on unless i misunderstood what you were asking for.

its noticable in 2nd when i turn up the boost to 20 psi on the map. less noticable with less boost but yea as the gears increase, it gets worse. If I watch the throttle and just 50% and 60% it, I get much better power transition and no surge but there is still a little lag. ill see if i can plot some logs on airboys spreadsheet utility.

What exactly are you feeling? In the log you posted it looks like you're overshooting your boost target and causing a boost fluctuation. Try lowering the duty cycles in that area until you're closer to the target. You can also adjust the turbo dynamics maps to change the reaction to the overshot.

You're running the stock turbo at 20psi? What fuel are you using?

just 91. I was messing with a stage2 map trying to see what I could do without seeing knock. I know probably not smart but I just wanted to see what 20psi felt like haha. Im using the Badnoodle guide trying to learn the basics and doing some trial and error.

Im overshooting boost because if I loosen the arm even half a turn more, the wastegate starts to rattle unless i put my finger on the arm. I think thats what people call wastegate flutter but I dont know for sure. I probably just need to find a working wastegate actuator off an 07. Right now mine is off the 05.

Its surging like that on the stock map too btw. Heres a picture.

oh yea its also an 07 tdo4 in my 05. original had 130k and would surge as well although im starting to think maybe it was the clutch the entire time and not the turbo giving out on me haha.

i also have no idea whats been done on the car before me when i bought it at 125k. im just assuming the original clutch is probably still in there.
