my understanding of class action lawsuits is that it everyone had to incur the same loss, for instance, they gave 20k people driving the same car the wrong parts.

in your case, it seems as though you're just trying to find other people who have had all sorts of problems with Jiffy Lube.

Class Action lawsuits are not intended to allow many individuals with different problems to join together and sue a company, it is for many individuals with the same problem to unite and sue.

How did you come up with this idea?

You haven't talked to an attorney yet have you?

Actually the issue has to be same, not the loss and yes I have spoken with a lawyer, and since we were all cheated in the same way, and it seems Jiffy Lube gives everyone a run around trying to solve something. So he said if enough people would be willing to come forth and try it is worth the effort. So I am just trying to see how many others had been victimized but nothing resolved.

Now me and a couple of others being the ones who start this will settle an amount of million if won. Now me and other three will get the majoirty of the settlement along with our lawyer (of course) but those involved and participate will split the rest. Could result in couple thousand dollar pay out
Good luck, but if you are serious about this then I probably wouldn't talk about $$ payout over the internet. In fact I wouldn't talk about specifics at all.

I dont think this qualifies under you 4 criteria but my gf had an oil change done at jiffy lube last month. she noticed a big spot under the car in the morning and took it directly to the dealer where they found that jiffy lube "forgot" to screw on the oil filter. it was just dangling there. pretty cool huh? anyways they (the dealer) fixed it and she (for the second time) has sworn off jiffy lube.

Likewise, this doesn't seem like grounds for a class action. The evidence of negligence in other cases might help you in small claims court though. You said you already tried small claims court, but what exactly happened there?

Oh, and is this you?

generally class actions suits are just to make attorneys rich. You and 20k people (as said above) have a problem that's worth$200 each = $4,000,000. Case settles for $2,100,000, the attorneys take $700,000 and then 20,001 people split the remainder (less costs). So you all Get about $60

had you gone to small claims (no attorneys allowed) you would have gotten $200 plus costs

all assumes you have a legit case and win (or settle)

class actions are good for punishing companies that are hosing people but even better for attorneys.
