Check Engine Light "Speed Sensor 'A' low output (P0502)

Anyone had this on their Subies?

I was at a red light, completely stopped when all the sudden my speedometer surged up to 60mph for no reason (not touching pedals). It was obviously an error because I wasn't moving...

About 2 mins later I get a check engine light.

Anyone run into this? I have a 2007 STi. This has never happened in any of my Subies.

Check your battery and alternator homie.

Other than that, no clue.

Based on the code it sounds like the speed sensor is either going bad or isn't getting enough power.

Reading on multiple sites using your P0502 code and google it seems that the Speed Sensor in the transmission is not getting the signal it thinks it should.
