Charity
My wife and I want to donate some bucks to charity. Anyone know if there are any sites I can go to or anyone I can contact for recommendations on which charitys are best to make donations to?
TIA,
Ken

Red Cross is always a good bet. I'm not fond of some charities because the spend all their money paying for high priced accountants and not going to the actual cause and it very hard to tell which ones they are. I won't name names because I don't want to **** anyone off.

i do a lot of volunteer work for the food bank in san francisco. im sure they would love the donations.
What causes are you interested in, or want to get involved w/? Take it from there. Igotwrxed has the right idea, generally, places like food banks usually get food to those that need it and are very worthy causes w/ very low overheads since most of the work is volunteer. If you like environmental causes, I like Earth First and Sierra Club. I think both have gotten a little too political for me, they seemed to give money to lobbyist. I am also a big proponent of research grants.
