Charity

My wife and I want to donate some bucks to charity. Anyone know if there are any sites I can go to or anyone I can contact for recommendations on which charitys are best to make donations to?

TIA,
Ken

We already donated a ton of stuff to Goodwill and the salvation army. Thanks SJT, keep them coming though.

Red Cross is always a good bet. I'm not fond of some charities because the spend all their money paying for high priced accountants and not going to the actual cause and it very hard to tell which ones they are. I won't name names because I don't want to **** anyone off.

That's my whole reason for asking Joe, and I almost hate myself for agreeing with you, but I want my money to go to those who need it.

What causes are you interested in, or want to get involved w/? Take it from there. Igotwrxed has the right idea, generally, places like food banks usually get food to those that need it and are very worthy causes w/ very low overheads since most of the work is volunteer. If you like environmental causes, I like Earth First and Sierra Club. I think both have gotten a little too political for me, they seemed to give money to lobbyist. I am also a big proponent of research grants.
