Who said anything about banning protests? This is an easy case to make for hecklers veto because you have two large groups of people with competing priorities that are placed in VERY close proximity to each other.

Riders trying to get home during rush hour, not typically a time when people liked to be ****ed around with, and protestors whose stated objective is to disrupt transit. Protester person blocks door, riders get pissed and try to intervene, fighting ensures... thats not a stretch of the imagination.

Lets try another scenario... white supremacists decide to march around a black neighborhood because they are retarded. angry black folk come out of their homes and mob up. the crowds confront each other, police in the middle. cops shut down cell phone service to prevent members of each side from organizing attacks or calling in reinforcements.
