its just too bad the pre till this day has multiple issues.

I used to work at palm and even know i dont see anything solid from them.

Just waiting to see the webOS on an hp platform and how well that goes.
I loved my palm Treo. The best I have ever had. But yeah HP just wants the webos. They dont care about smart phones.

Thats the problem

I wish they made the pre better. I wish they made a Treo that rocked the socks :/

Yeah my 680 was the last treo I had. It lasted two and a half years and then died.

The Driod X And G2 are really hackable, even if you buy them new and plan on doing that sort of thing. Iphones are cool for the video calling features with other iphones, the rest is basically which carrier you want to go with. It really doesn't matter. If the Iphone's app store pisses you off then I'd skip it.

Right now if you buy a new Iphone there is no way to jailbreak it and nothing is coming up in the near future that will allow you to.

I had a BB 8300 and it was great, lasted a long time, even got dropped in sanitizing solution once and it came back OK. Upgraded to a new 9700 "Bold" and I hate it. I have given it 3 months of use before saying that. Drops calls every single time a call lasts longer than 5min and I am driving (using the car's bluetoof). Every single time. Sometimes I will pull it out of the holster thingy and there are a couple things open and running even though the holster puts it on standby. There's a "mute" button strategically located on a corner that sticks out of the holster, so every time, without fail, if I am on a call with my phone in my pocket (bluetoof) and I MOVE ever so slightly, it mutes me and I have to fumble around to un-mute it. I seriously hate this thing. I gave my old Curve to my sister, otherwise I would go back to it. Have not had the desire to go to an AT&T store yet to hear 1) all these things are my fault 2) I am doing it wrong and 3) I can have the phone replaced and start anew with different hardware if I feel there is really an issue.

Couple BB/AT&T folks have told me a few things to try and do and as usual the problems continue. One idea to stop the call dropping was to downgrade from 3G to 2G, which I did, but it didn't help. A guy from RIM told me I was putting it in the holster "incorrectly" and that is why sometimes it comes out with 3 programs running.

Also, having another small USB plug is just stupid. How many do we need before there is going to be a "standard" or something?

Unfortunately I cannot participate in the iPhone sucks/get ROIDS argument since I need BB's email filtering functionality. Plus, I do not like touchscreens AT ALL.

Dude, Samsung phones are freaking awesome! Personally, if you get a this generation Android phone that isn't from Dell, I think you'll be really happy!

I have a Samsung GalaxyS (Captivate) from the day it was released.

It's a great phone, very fast (especially after one clik lag fix). Screen is beautiful and bright and Swype is awesome and I would never use a touchscreen phone without it.

There is one potentially fatal flaw.... the GPS signal lock has issues. They just released a patch that was supposed to improve it, but I don't see much difference. Perhaps the Froyo update will address it, but nobody seems to really know.

So, if you rely on GPS on your phone, you're gonna hate it

anything you do... if you go android make sure that it's a 1ghz or more phone.. this way you are well prepared for future updates....

also if physical keyboard isn't a 100% necessity... check out the samsung galaxy s line.. they have a version for att, tmobile and verizon... i have the captivate for att and overall like the phone... i just hate my network. id get it on verizon.

I was thinking about getting HTC Aria. It's small. 4" screen phones are kind of big IMHO. It's 600 MHz but people are saying it's pretty fast on 2.1. Anyone here uses this phone? Need some feedbacks
