id say go with android since ive had an iphone, crap load of garbage windows mobile phones, and been through two android phones.

Look into the Sprint HTC evo, that thing is badass! I wasn't much into the internet or smart phones before, every other person I know has an iPhone and I would play with it but it never really grabbed my attention like this thing. The plan isn't that bad either, you just have to pay $10 extra a month for 4g, even though its not available like anywhere right now

Have you had a smart phone before? I vote for the iPhone. I had the 3G and now iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 is AMAZING. I am no Apple fanboy (I love PCs and hate Macbook's, huge gamer), anyways, the camera on the iPhone is so good and clear even under low light conditions. I take pictures of my diagrams/notes and I can read tiny words clearly on the phone. The display is so crisp and clean. The scrolling, button pressing, whatever is so smooth. There is barely any lag when opening apps or closing apps. My 3G had a huge lag issue, sometimes taking 3-4 seconds to open something. The iPhone 4's video is also very nice. I just recorded a 720p video and posted it up on youtube. THere are so many more apps for the iPhone, but honestly I'm not a big app guy, I just love the phone for the basics. I know you've probably heard this before, but once you have a smart phone, you probably won't go back to a regular phone. There is just so much you can do with it. And I'm talking about smart phones in general, I could compare prices with amazon when I'm shopping, seeing if an ink fits for my friend's printer at costco, find directions, find places to eat, and there are soooooo many other things you can with the tip of your fingers. What else...having a smart phone in general, I check my email often, look at the calender, ..etc. You can have your calendar's data pushed to your phone, meaning if you update it on google calednar, it will be in your phone in seconds without you doing anything. I'm sure other phones do the same thing, so that probably doesn't help. Yeah, I just loved my 3G and now REALLY loving my iPhone 4. There's a reason why everyone has one, and that's because it really is a great phone. Facetime is neat but I never use it becaues it's WiFi only, anyways, just paly with each of the phone and see what you're most comfortable with.

. I havent been really happy since my treo 680 I went windows mobil because palm didnt come out with anything after the 680
depends what you're looking for in a phone and/or what class if you're sticking with gsm.. but if you don't use mobile internet or do any data transfers, then just get a whatever phone

if you still want the internet function while not having it suck too much, maybe try looking at the sony ericsson satio released last yr and sony ericsson vivaz, both class 10 phones.. if you want something that may have kickass internet , try looking at the nokia n8 or e7<coming out next yr>.. class 33 and 32 respectively

I have the iPhone 3g, played with 4g and will never own another iPhone again. Period. Multiple friends have the Evo 4g and cant speak highly enough about it, Sprint wasnt that great before but its a lot better now and a hell of a lot better than ATT.
Also the Galaxy S is a great phone, on any network. The wife and I are switching to Sprint, its cheaper and has great phones with great coverage. Im getting the Samsung Epic 4g and shes getting the Evo.

Evo - i have and love it. wish it had swype built in so i dont have to deal w/ the touch keyboard.
Epic - demo'd it from work... love that it has swype and it has a physical slide out keyboard and a better (but slightly smaller) lcd than the Evo. Only flaw i see to the epic is that its using Samsung's UI which i'm not a particular fan of....
Droid X - great phone. comparable against the Evo, but i like that it has a camera button.
Droid 2 - has a physical keyboard. love it.

Get the Epic if you are into a super nice Super AMOLED screen. Thing looks super clean and clear, plus it has swype which is boss. If you want a larger screen, 4G, front facing camera and just a great phone, the EVO. Sprint is cheaper than most cell phone companies and gives you the most. (If you say you work for Cisco, you get a 30% discount I believe). I get 20% off for working for City of San Jose. Sorry, but Verizon didn't offer me that.

Your right it kills the battery first lol. My friend has one and he gives it a full charge about 3 times a day!! The X and the iPhone can at least last the day haba

Not true Matt he just doesn't know how to set up his phone. I have been on same battery for 3 days now without a charge and I use the phone for tons of things.

Oh, and the Evo allows you to purchase a larger capacity battery, or carry a full charged spare(s) to replace anytime you need it.

Droid-X, internal hardware wise is essentially identical to the Droid 2. Droid 2 comes stock with 2.2 though.

Sigma stay far away from palm pre anything. We had 10 phones within 6 months. And the day i bought my evo bryans broke again. We went from a treo to the pre and was the biggest mistake.

palm products always suck bad when they first release..and they start fixing issues.
its just too bad the pre till this day has multiple issues.
I used to work at palm and even know i dont see anything solid from them.
Just waiting to see the webOS on an hp platform and how well that goes.
