o sht a CEL halted my acceleration!
Er... I was floorin' it...'whoom' sound (or maybe in my head) and the car stopped accelerating. CEL went on.
I was like...o sht...did I blow my engine?
Then 20 minutes later, being a dumbass I decided to do a 1st gear acceleration test. Accelerates all right!
wtf happened? Anyone know?
I got a boost controller (set 15.5 in 3rd, never floor it in 4 and 5) and up/downpipe exhaust...
thanks,
ambert

sounds like fuel cut. Not that big of a problem, the car did what it was supose to do. When it gets cooler out ( the air is more dense ) the car will mesure more air flowing past the MAS and cut your fuel thinking there is too much air entering the car ( too much air = too much boost). You can have not touched your settings at all but if the ambient air temp drops, you have the possibility of hitting it if your at the limit during the hot parts of the days.

same thing has happened to me twice. Accelerating then bam car feels like it has lost all power then a second later feels fine and a CEL lights up. First time i looked and my mbc hose popped off. Happened two nights ago the same power loss feel then normal and i checked but the boost controller was all on fine. Pulled the cel with my friends pocket logger and it was the boost/wastegate something or other. Dunno why it happened but the car is fine.

"the boost/wastegate something or other'
uh could someone please elaborate? This really scares me, a poor *** college student eating 2 tacos for 99 cents to be able to afford this car

i said or something because i forgot the exact line it gave, but it had to deal with boost/wastegate. Your boost controller is a MBC right?

your car is fine.. I have hit boost/fuel cut a few times.. just means you need to back your boost down a tad at night or when it gets cold out. Your running right at the edge of the limits of your stock turbo and injectors.

its not due to overboosting though. Well at the time it has happened to me i wasn't looking at my boost guage to see what it did because it only has power loss for a second or two and its is totally unexpected and random. Probably just because the mbc is a ball/spring type and maybe it didn't hold the boost and it really did overboost for that split second causing the cel and cut.

Argh! Exact same thing happened to me last night for the first time. I was launching, just about to hit 2nd gear and it cut out. Scared the hell out of me. Thought I had screwed up, not paid attention and hit 10k rpm or something. Happy to find this post this morning. And happy to know I was actually paying attention, it was just cold as f**k in San Francisco last night. Phew!
