It really didn't even dawn on me that it has been so bad until my friend mentioned to me we were over the 1K fires mark. Then I started noticing all the haze (just thought it was overcast - haven't been watching the news). I have been inside and super busy so didn't notice at first, but yeah this SUCKS. Hopefully the firefighters can get this under control soon.

lol people who smoke are smart for once, since theyve prepared for this week of haze.

In that case I would say there are a lot of Berkeley people that are very well prepared for this past week.

Seems like a good time to write your Congressman, and ask what is being done to ensure all Federal fire resources are fully staffed. There has been a big hit in the number of Federal fire resources staffed in CA the last year or two (for a few very specific reasos), and at times like this it really shows. Some of the more remote fire are still unstaffed, most are understaffed, and this may continue for a while.

By the way, I just spent 14 days hitting multiple fires, I am at the end of my 2 mandatory days off, and the next 14 to 21 will be spent doing the same. I missed my Subie lol. Anyway, wish us luck cause this **** is crazy...especially for June!!

I would say pray for rain not wind!! I know everyone wants the smoke gone but wind will just help spread the flames.
