Can someone help me with dual sport motorcycle values/advice?

I have a yz 125 the kelly blue book says its worth 1500. I know I can sell it for that, its green sticker. nice bike.

My question is this; I was looking at this 97 xt 225 and kbb is 1400 but its reg and clean, 2900 miles. He is asking 2500, any chance i can work him down to 1800 you think? or is it worth more than kbb represents?

KBB for bikes is useless to me. There is no way to value a bike via kbb. They don't take anything into account. I don't care if kbb says your bike is worth 2800, you need brakes, valve adjust, you've dropped it several times and I have no idea how the engine has been riden. The bikes take so much punishment just riding and reving up into the high 10's that someone riding their bike hard might reduce the life by 1/2.
Price against other bikes not against kbb.. my 0.02

Exactly. See what other bikes like yours are selling for in the area and work off that.
