I love this one, 10X optical and still pretty small...smaller than G10...its probably like 1.5" thick, and extends like 4" About $230?
Its probably actually better than a smaller elph, which is square and harder to take out of pockets...this one has smooth edges so would slide in and out...and extend...

totally copying Canon. Low blow Nikon

well, i like a camera that you can attach a flash to it. i hate the flashes that come on the P&S cameras, never strong enough. so that is why i chose those two. now the canon one allows you to shoot RAW if you ever want to get into bigger and better things.

Now I don't have to take the pictures in the bathroom anymore, but I think I'll keep on doing it for the sake of tradition... Apparently people are always disappointed when the pics aren't taken outside the bathroom... hahah... For traditional purposes, I'll keep the shots in the john.

plus using a hotshoe flash on a P&S defeats its entire purpose.
If you care about photos enough to care about a better flash, you wouldnt be using the P&S in the first place and sure as hell wont be carrying both in your pocket!

If I want to get back into photography like I was back in high school (almost 10 years ago), I'd get a nice SLR and not a point and shoot!
I hate using my camera phone... Always turn out like the worst pictures ever even though its 1.8mp, its the lens and crap that sucks so the pics always turn out awful. I'm always wishing that I had a simple little camera on me to take a nice P&S photo, now I can! YAY!
Thanks for all the advice everyone even though most of you were recommending stuff that was totally not what I wanted and/or out of my price range.
Weird.. I always hate how harsh the flash is on every P&S cam I have had, so I usually end up either never using it or taping some white paper across it to diffuse it. Also have never used RAW w/ my DSLR too. I probably would not use a P&S with a flash as the flash I have I think is bigger than that camera so I might as well take the DSLR...
