...Any ad with a catching line of 'Are you a bad *** street racer' should make the publisher's computer burst into anthrax flames.

Just sent this email:

^^I quoted your advertisement, so you know which ad I'm talking about.^^

I'm interested in getting a quote for you to light my crankshaft.

As you can tell by my email address, I have a Subaru Forester (XT) which has been highly modified and built to generate approximately 550WHP. No one mentioned lighting my crankshaft as a possible way of gaining even more horsepower, but I'm willing to listen and possibly invest in this technology if you can show some proven gains from the lighting.

Currently, I'm using a GT35R rotated mount turbocharger, generating nearly 38lbs. of peak boost, front mount intercooler, a divorced wastegate, downpipe, up-pipe, dual fuel-rail twin 750cc injectors, a Hydra engine management system, and the supporting modifications to create this monster. I have $50k invested in this, and I don't want to invest a whole lot more, since it's running so nicely.

I figure if this is something anyone can afford, that I should be able to have the crankshaft lighting mod done for around $1,000?? Let me know what it would involve, and what the turnaround time is. I gotta get over the 600WHP mark, so I can take on that Supra guy who's been baggin' on my sh*t, you know what I mean? Racing him will get me the money to pay for this crank lighting mod.

my email

Hi there,
My name is Timmy and just saw your add on CL. I drive a 2003 subaru impreza wrx. I have a slight list of mods already done to it.
Mods:
-vf39Turbo swap
-Sti pink injectors
-ugraded fuel pump
-catless up/down pipe and full tbe
-full suspension
-engine management with Cobb AccessPort V2

Thats about all I have done, but I am SICK AND TIRED of evos always beating me around the streets!! Ive only raced for money a couple times and have lost every time to an evo! Not even the same one! So when I saw your posting and the part that read:

"At the lower RPMS your take off will be faster, remember your crankshaft is lighter, so it moves faster than the other guy.

At the upper RPMS you will be able to go higher, therefore, more power. For example, if you can go up to 8000 RPMS, with a lighter crankshaft you can go higher around 10000RPMS."

That got my interest. Then when I continued and saw this part:

"Most high performance engines like Ferrari, Porsche and such use this idea to increase power throughout the power band. Racing cars also use lighter crankshafts to increase their power."

That there sold me! I would be very interested in make the 1.5hr drive to come into your shop! Just have a few questions for you.

How long do you need my car for?
How much will it cost me?

Very interested in this, please let me know as soon as you're free!
