CA Registration question

I got the renewal notice for my car, problem is the car is no longer in the state of CA. When it was registered in its new home state, I thought that DMV sends notice.

I looked over the paperwork and I don't see any option to inform them that the car is no longer in the state and registered elsewhere.

Thoughts?

Seriously though, I would search the ca dmv website, or google your question in regards to ca dmv. Usually works well for me.

I just poked around on the DMV site, seems you just have to add the "moved out of state" option since their paperwork doesn't have that option.

really? I must have been really lucky then... I had to call them twice, once on my old car and few months later on my new car... No wait time, got through immediately and was taken care off too! Oh well...

This is pretty important if you ever want to register in CA again because unless you notify them, even though you are paying reg in another state, CA will consider that you just didn't pay your reg and charge accordingly. So dumb.

Ignore it...I did. Got notice and repeat notices to register my Infinity, which I had donated...not my problem...never heard anything else after that. I did send in my change of title card when i sold it though.

I don't have luck like that, I'll just mail them the paperwork.

Go to the DMV and inform them. Simple as that.
