William Shaw needs to find something better to do with his time. He also needs better criteria to write this petition. Did any of you actually read it?! It made me laugh in some respects. Nice to know that he backed all his assumptions and claims with hard evidence.
It would be nice to have one plate but why not petition something that'll make a difference in CA? I'm sure the amount of tin used in the manufacturing of 1 plate isn't as significant as most of the problems this state has.
In summary William's: Too lazy to wash his car by hand and blames the carwash for his damage, He's a reckless driver and likes to carelessly bump others while parallel parking...he wants to consume more gas by going faster but can't because his Intercooler gets heat soaked. Not to mention, NOW the cops will be pulling his sorry *** over instead of the drunk drivers because he speeding.
I'm not even signing that crap because it's embarassing.

Also, on ths petition, who says any of those "statistics" are correct? No references or proof. Sound like whiny folks made some ish up... although I agree with the effort, I wouldn't sign anything that might be a buncha made up lies.

Also, the license plates are usually where a cop aims the radar gun.
In the real world, though, not many cops use their radar gun pointing at oncoming traffic, so this argument is pretty weak. Speed traps are usually set up so the cop can just flip on his lights and pursue and not have to make a u-turn to do it.
