Crew,

Just read the thread about failure to stop, so I wanted to give you all a heads up that for the past week, including today, there have been 2 cops on bikes pulling folks over making the right turn from Brokaw Rd. to 1st St. in San Jose, next to the Tech CU. Not sure if it is cause of failure to stop, or people making their own lanes, both of which are common. Just make sure to take extra caution when rolling that area.

The cops are parking the bikes on the sidewalk just past the right turn, and appear to be working in conjunction with a 3rd bike cop who is patrolling the block. Keep your eyes open.

I no longer take Brokaw -> North 1st. Too much traffic to get to work. I just take Brokaw, right on Zanker, left on Charcot.

 

Has anyone else noticed that there seems to be a lot of cops out lately?

 

Yea that's the same for me. I hate driving 1st street.

 

I started looking for alternate routes almost as soon as I started using that route. What's worse is waiting to turn left from North First onto Brokaw (toward 880). That stupid trolley always resets the left turn loop. There've been so many times when I was just about to get my green, when that damn trolley reset the loop.

Now, to go home, I just take Charcot -> O'Toole -> Brokaw FTW.
