not sure if anyone heard about this yet...could be old news, and sorry if it is, but looks to me like we will have another new racetrack about an hour away from us soon!

So far the county has not even approved it, and the owners shut us out of rallycrossing at Altamont, I won't be very enthused until I see it happen...

one more thing, Atwater is more like 2 hours from most of the bay area

Yeah this has been around for a while, I'm hoping it will actually happen one of these days.

I've been waiting nearly 4 years now to get this thing built. My cousin lives in Merced, and knew about it back then.

I really hope it goes through.

great news, but it will be several years before the place is actually built.

or even approved!

Neighbors are complaing about increased traffic, and above all, NOISE!

Retards have already forgotten that there was a huge, always in operation air force base, with huge cargo planes, apaches, and crap flying in and out of there for decades.

It would be nice to have another racetrack out here... I much prefer the drive to Merced over the one to Thunderhill. T-hill is way out north. Merced is still reasonably close.

I was all excited, then I looked up where it was - still a 2 hour drive for me. I'd rather go to Sac

Nobody hold their breathe over this. It is still just in the planning stages.

They just turned in a draft EIR back in November. It will be at least a couple years before the final EIR gets approved, if that quick. Depends on how many people want to file lawsuits and whatnot to delay it. Then design will start a while after that. A few years later it will go to construction. You get the picture?

yeah, every few months someone "discovers" this project and posts it here. This has been in the planning stages for a long long long time, and I'll be surprised if it ever actually built.
