Teiva-boy = Kart-boy question

Mitch,

Do you think its possible for me to do the kartboy/bushings myself? I havent messed with cars a lot, but Im not a moron when it comes to taking shyt apart and putting it back together. I just have a ton of crap on order and would like to have a clue how to do these mods so possibly I can help others in the future and not be a bystander. Just curious. If it involves anything under the car or messing with tranny forget it, if its just in car and screwing with things I will give it a shot. Lemme know...

Should be here early next week...

I know I'm not mitch (I'm a little heavier and not as cute), but I'm pretty sure that anyone who can operate a car jack and turn a 10 or 12mm wrench can accomplish a kartboy bushing install.

I'm not Mitch, either. But, yes, you can do this install yourself. I wasn't able to connect with ScoobyMods.com just now, but they have a tutorial with pics on the install. Smear the existing grease from the old shifter (ball) end onto the new one. The only thing I did differently was to use a rubber mallet to seat the shifter end into the receiving socket instead of using my fist.

I was also careful to get the bushing retaining nuts at least a few threads finger tight before using a socket on them to draw the Kartboy bushings all the way on - I didn't want to take the chance on stripping the stud. This was one of the easiest installs I've done, although the Cusco rear anti-sway bar was pretty straightforward, too.

If you're talking about the round shifter bushings, just go up from the bottom. Takes 15-20 minutes max. You don't need to unseat anything crazy or use a mallet or anything like that.

when you tighten the bolt/nut that holds the shifter itself in-place, make sure you do not tighten it too much! Or else .... well you'll figure it out when it's hard to shift gears!!

Ok, it finally got in, ugh. So follow the ScoobyMods directions I assume. Im so lame I probably cant find where the bushings are underneath the car, but am going to give it a try.
