Boost Problems!!!

alright at about 4k to 5.5k i loose like .2 kmpa of boost in 2nd and 3rd gear. I know it is supposed to tapper off but it tappers off really fast. I noticed in my friends car 2nd gear holds more boost till about 5.5k RPM then it starts 2 taper. Mine starts tapering at about 4.5k rpm. Just wondering if it is the wasgate and if so do i need to open or close it?? Which direction to i spin the nut to close or open (exp. Left 2 close waste gate and right 2 open waste gate) And yes the wastegate has been tampered with!! STUPID FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!

The question should be "what do you have set up on your turbo and what car?"...actuator type wastegate or external type wastegate?

cheers

just make sure the arm where the screws attach to is not loose. Tighten it till it stops then you are set. no leaks until the actuator gets boost pressure.

cheers

am i taking crazy pills?!?!?!?!

why the hell would you allow your friend to touch the bolts on your wastegate actuator? that's a great way to blow up the engine on your brand new $23,000 car. i hate to sound like your mother, but did that thought even cross your mind?

oh and be sure to try to get it covered under warrantee when your pistons shoot through your fenders.

Dude, you should have them put it back exactly the way they found it. If you need help still, I can take a look in the manuals for you and see where that bolt is supposed to be. Just ask if you need to.
