What's also amusing is that there are all sorts of dual-deck VHS and digital media copying machines available to the public sold by really big companies like Philips, Panasonic, Sony, etc... right here in the good ol' USA.


Now we're at an interesting point in the stupidity you'v raised: ALL THIS IS UNDECIDED. It is in court RIGHT NOW. There is NO DEFINITIVE LAW. And, there IS NO INJUNCTION regarding making backup copies.

I think your refering to the 321 studios case. Which is a bit different as that is pertaining more to the dvd to dvd copying not one format to another format. Which is perfectly legal under Fair use.
