Just like Treadwear ratings don't mean much (Azenis have 200, etc), I would take those ratings with a grain of salt.

Upon further reflection, those results make more sense to me. I bet the braking traction tests are done at relatively cold temperatures, which would explain the poor performance of the softer compounds.
