Upon further reflection, those results make more sense to me. I bet the braking traction tests are done at relatively cold temperatures, which would explain the poor performance of the softer compounds.

These tests are made for street conditions, not race conditions.

actually the greatest stuff I've witnessed with R1's have been on the street...but that's bad, so we don't talk about it...heh!
