p zero is horrible in the dry, the pilot sport ps2 is just as good as p zero in the wet.
p zero is too all season....poopy..................i say get pilot sport ps2 if you are looking for ride, re01r if you are looking for a little less comfort but better dry grip, little cheaper buttttt wear out faster than ps2. Thats my opinion anyway.

Of course there will be a night and day difference in dry performance. PZeros, I can get 225/50/16s for $100/tire while the PS2 doesn't even come in a 16 in size. Yeah, the PS2 of course grips in a completely different level than the PZero, but until I can get PS2 grip levels on a tire that costs just as much as the PZero and gets me 30k miles out of a tire, I'll take the PZero. You're comparing apples to oranges. If you want to compare a similar tire to the PS2, you'd grab the S-03, where they're similar tires but the PS2 would come out on top.
I dont want to intrude on the thread too much, but i have a similar question. Ill be needing new tires soon, and i was thinking of going with the re960s. I need some sort of tire that can handle decent in the snow and in the rain being that ill be going up to tahoe a lot this year and i cant afford snow/winter tires. So basically i need something with decent snow traction, wet traction and obviously dry on 16 inch wheels (215 preferable)
Haha I saw this and was gonna recommend the RE050A's which is what I am running right now in 225/40-18. They are very nice, predictable and stick like glue for a street tire. I think they feel slightly more responsive than the S0-3's. In comparison to the F1 DS-3's I think they have more grip and a more locked down feel, but I have not tried them in the rain yet. I'm from Hilo so I know what you mean about Hawaii rain.

Just to add a little additional information. I purchased Pilot Alpin PA2's for my winter/snow tires and they've performed quite well. I wanted a set that I could run during the bay area winters (mostly dry) but wouldn't have to swap to a dedicated snow set every time I wanted to head up to Tahoe. They've been great in the snow, alright in the dry, and great in the dirt. A good compromise to something like a Blizzak (which we run on my wife's '00 RS) which we have to swap out before we leave and again when we get home (too soft to run full time in the bay area winters IMHO).

g-Force T/A KDW2 are GREAT!
I've had two sets of them and I friggin love them! Cost, grip, everything. Great tire for the bay area.
I'm not into spending $800+ on tires, thanks.

I'm still breaking in my RE960's, so there's not much to say about them yet.
I have however flogged the RE01R's at an autocross during a rain storm, and I gotta say I was thoroughly impressed, considering especially that I was driving a RWD BMW.

I would get the REo1R or hankook RS2 or falken RT615
Since you already have dedicated track and winter tires, no point in wasting your time with an all-season
and the kdws are garbage IMO

regardless of the mini-review of the re960's, i think ill be going with those during the winter being that i need a semi-snow tire and something with decent wet traction. Luckily, I aquired a set of high-performance wheels for free, so maybe ill get some good tires on those later on when it dries up after winter (17's too)

The RE-01R are probably going to beat the pants off of anything else in that list. They're more in the class of the Advan AD07 IIRC. Probably not a tire you want to be driving around everyday simply because it's expensive to do so.

Thank you all for your opinions. I think I'm going to just replace the one odd tire with another RE050A. But when those need replacing who knows what the next greatest tire will be.
