Yes.

When you start adding amps and so-forth, you start really drawing serious current.

I wouldn't start worrying about installing the STi alternator unless you have at least 600+ watts of RMS amp output.

costco + optima battery = lifetime warranty. highly unlikely.. but if it does die out you can get a brand new one

Too funny - the battery on my '03 just died last week with almost no warning. Regarding types, unless you have a 500+ watt amp, you will be fine with a $45 costco battery. There really is no other reason to pay 4X for a battery in the bay area where weather is mild.

You've got to love Costco. Last I heard they did have some Optimas in stock, but not the size and terminal orientation for our Imprezas, maybe they can order the correct one, which I think is Group 25 with reversed terminals?

I have an Odyssey battery. It's powering a Rockford Fosgate 600 watt amp+ a JL10W6 and a headunit. I've had it for about 6 months now, and I've never had problems.
