I'm happy to see that everyone there was on the cops side, and asking if he needed support. Way to go BART passengers! +1 to you. Usually it's the complete opposite...

I couldn't see the video due to current internet restraints but I didn't see anything last night when I saw it on the news.

my take is the officer needs to clear the suspect from the train. hence the pushing him away.

but the drunk dude is well... drunk and hard to control. cop coulda slammed the dude on the ground but decided to keep him upright.

drunk dude keeps moving until he sees wall.

oops too late.

Yea, police are trained to trip a person they are trying to subdue. He could have easily tripped the dude and he would have slammed head first into the ground. He was trying to keep him upright so he could cuff him. But being drunk the guy was unstable.

I believe that something happened before someone started filming.

Good job to the officer. I would have backed him up if i were there also. I've been on bart with drunk people like that and I'm happy this one got dealt with accordingly.

The Examiner yesterday said the drunkard was already cited earlier that day for picking fights at the Daly City station

Holy Crap! The cop is my buddy Shane from college! I need to dig up his number to find out what really happened! Got the link in an email today from another friend from school asking to see if I could recognize the cop.
