do these thing work on all intersections, or just thoes with the the little boxes on top of the poles??? i remember that one could change the light by flashing your high beams really fast at thoes intersections, and most of the time they would change green.

yea it does, well, not all the time,
some intersections have have little boxes on top of the light poles, usually the ones thet span across the street. there is one by my work in oakland that works all the time.

 

someone said that they might not be illegal, althought I dont know how since your tampering with traffic control devices.

something about it using IR instead of radio frequencys

yea then 4 of us can all meet at the same intersection, at the same time, going oppsite directions, and use them all at once!! 4 green lights!!

Not really. Because it turns the other lights red. Just like a normal light change. It just happens to do it whenever you roll up to the light.

 

what a rip off. You can build one of those of like 15% of that cost.

Besides that...most cities have already started changing systems.

And on top of that there are some serious law violations if you get caught with some of those. Part of the law that blocks use of blue and red strobes and what not.
