Bad experiance at Monterey Collision shop at San Jose

Hi fellow i-Club members. Just wanted to share y experience and maybe to warn others...

Brought my Lexus there in December for rear bumper job. Some little scratches on the corner and some on left rear fender. Jessy promised to call and update regularly about their progress. Sure enough no one called for 4 days so I called myself to find out what was going on with my car. They said that everything was OK and they are progressing. In 6 days received a call that my car was ready. Came to pick it up only to find out that the color of the bumper and the fender does not match the original color of the car.
They looked at it, agreed that the work is not acceptable and told me to bring the car next Monday for 1 day of work so they would match the bumper and the fender.

Brought the car next Monday for one day work. The car was not ready not next day nor the day after. It took them 7 days to "fix" the problem.

When i came to pick my car again, what i saw!!!. Instead of matching the color of the bumper and the fender to the original color of the car, they painted the left rear door, the front left door, the front left fender, the trunk, the right rear fender, and both panels above and below door in this ugly not matching color.
In addition, the bumper was not sitting strait. the moldings below doors were not attached correctly, the clips holding moldings mostly were broken, and the paint job was terrible. It looked like orange skin, no slick and shiny as it is supposed to be on Lexus. Now 90% of my car is painted in ugly color of bad quality. It looks like it was painted from the spay can and make impression the car was in a major accident

When i pointed it out to Jessy he got irritated and told me that I'm impossible to make happy and told me to take the car to another garage.

After complaining to the owner Rob, he agreed that the car lost its value due to over-painting and bad quality of work. He offered to make a compensation for diminishing value of my car. We agreed on a price, but as soon as time came to give money under different circumstances he avoids keep his promise. he became very rude, accusing me of threatening him and so on. he finds 100 excuses not to keep his obligations. Now it is the end of February.

So, it is not enough that they do not know their job, they also liars...

Stay away, there are panty dissent shops who respect customers

They did a great job when I took my Mazdaspeed Protege in for a bumper replacement after I was rear-ended. This was like 3-4 years ago though..
