looking for experiance with vishnu products
Currently I am a honda driver, I know I know dont hate me. Its a crx with zc swap, cams, and other minor modifications. I am wanting to get away from the honda scene because I hate the people that drive them, and the fact that they are everywhere you turn. I am trying to get ahold of a wrx, and am very interested in the Vishnu Stage 3 and suspension upgrades. If anyone on the board has had experiance with this, or any of their other products I am looking for some input.
-Would the stage 3 keep the car still driveable as a moderate daily driver?
-How complicated is the intallation?
-I should upgrade the clutch too right, because stock would have problems handling 350hp, which one?
-How is their suspension?
-Finally, is the stage 3 even worth the $4300 that you spend on it.
All input is very much appreciated.

There is only 1 stage 3 car that i know of, and let me tell you, that car is just scorching... There isn't really anything that can top it other than high displacement sports cars like a viper or boosted or sprayed V8s, and straight 6 cars like a turbo supra. For a car that puts down about 310hp or something on 91 oct, i'm telling you, this car is the real deal.
Vishnu products from my experience with people who are customers of Shiv is they are high quality. Stage 3 isn't cheap, so be prepared to keep cash on hand incase something goes wrong. Clutch wise, i would say you could upgrade, but remember that upgaded clutches tend to be harsher on the tranny, and the tranny is our weakest part.
Other than Vishnu, you still have options for kits. TurboXS, Easy Street, I-Speed to name a few.
Or if you want to mix and match, and creat something more personal, you can contact MPJ Performance, S-Squared, and Gruppe-S for parts.
You have many options. However, if it's VS3 that you are eyeing, pick up the phone, can call shiv, and talk to him about it, and get a feel for it.

yeah there is only one stage 3 car on the road right now. owned by dredizzle. he bought it off of shiv. that thing is crazy fast. he finally broke the tranny (now has no first gear). but what do you expect running that much power. vishnu is on the expensive side of things. however, you are getting a great product and vishnu's whole philosophy is keeping the car safe.
i don't know about what they offer suspension wise, but you can always part together a really good setup for less money

I would check out an i-speed engine swap if you are looking for huge HP numbers. The 2.5 will have more potential than just building the 2.0 and i-speed is pretty reasonable on price, although I am not sure where you are from to get them to install it. But out of a pretty stock 2.5 turbo you will get pretty high HP out of the box. Just depends on how much you want to spend I think.

Technically, the EcuTek re-flash is not smog legal in California. It has not undergone CARB certification in California to receive an Exemption Order number.
These parts are sold as-is with the understanding that its intended use is for off-road, as are other re-flash products such as Cobb Tuning's AccessECU and tune-it-yourself products such as the UTEC.
That said, Vishnu EcuTek mapping at idle or cruise conditions remains essentially as it came from the factory. Some people claim to have passed smog (sniffer test, only) when they re-sold their WRXs. Since the sniffer test does not involve running under load on a chassis dyno, the car should pass easily.
Vishnu-tuned XEDE piggyback chip can be removed easily from the factory connectors, restoring the car (and emissions) back to stock in minutes. It can be tuned to achieve any state of tune as the EcuTek.
See Vishnu Performance's site for additional info.

Just more fun facts from people who actually have passed smog on countless occasions….
About 7 days ago we actually passed state ref /smog with our latest jdm wrx ver VIII/rs conversion. The car had 565 injectors, VF 22, samco hoses and up pipe while it was being smogged. The greatest part of it all was that we had one of our USDM ECU’s which we ECUtek’ed prior to getting smogged.
I wish I could say it was just our tuning that got us passed smog but it was more than that. In order to make the jdm engine pass smog we had to combine a jdm harness and a USDM harness plus we had to add a few emission related items. All that PLUS the ECUtek helped us pass state ref smog with flying colors.
