Back to a suby! and can't decide on what to do...
Hey guys its been awhile since I've had my Subaru it was 3 cars past but I am coming back! I'm still debating on what I'm going to do exactly and just wanted some other inputs. I'm looking to get a car with in the next month but I haven't decided on exactly what I want to do so here is what I'm looking at doing
1) get a bugeye for cheap with a blown motor exc. and then rebuild/upgrade. I'd be looking to spend 2-6k depending on the condition
2) get a bugeye in good condition with under 100k miles. Looking to spend 10-15k
3) get an 05 Sti in good condition and I'd want to spend 16-20k
I'm mostly going to be daily driving it. I do go drive back roads on some weekends. On my last suby I had an 04 WRX with an 18g and I'm looking for a little more power then that. Let me know what experiences you've had or what you think I should do.

Option 1. Depending on the price you get it for, you could probably drop a 6speed and a semi built motor for under 10-12k total if you do the work yourself.
Downside is that could take a while to find the right car, the right priced tranny and motor.
You could always buy an STI off the bat but throwing a big turbo on it with a stock motor might be recipe for disaster depending on your driving style.
Anyway Option 1. Final answer =D

Haha oh he hates me because I had him take the tbe off my speed3 and he said he would never work on one again lol
I've been looking but I haven't found anything yet so I've been thinking about the Sti more. I would really only like to spend 3-4k for a bugeye because a swap is going to cost from 10-15k

With the time frame you have, its going to be very hard if not impossible to find a bugeye for that price. A few times a year people will unload theirs with blown motors or 150k+ for under 5k. I was able to pickup my FXT with similar criteria this exact way.
