BA rent pricing

I'm totally clueless about this but its time for me to become an adult (or at least pretend) and I'm trying to get an idea of rent pricing around the bay area specifically the SF and SJ area. I know there are $10000000 a month appts or I can live in 'shank me' country but what is the price for an average place with a garage in a decent neighborhood? Again I don’t know **** about this stuff so if this question is too vague or just too stupid I'm sure you'll let me know. TIA

I pay $1850/mo for a 950-1000 sq. ft. 2 BR 1BA apt w/ garaged parking in Noe Valley.

CL is the best way to get an idea of this.

You must really like where you live.

I was paying $1,000 a month for a 525sqft studio apt (not really a studie, more like a 1 bedroom with no bedroom door) with underground gated parking in Walnut Creek.

When I first moved here 5 years ago (dot com boom) I paid 1350 for a 1 bdrm about 400 sqft and parking in the backyard. Still parking i guess. Then I got an in-law/all the garage for 1100 prolly like 600 sqft and now I have a 3 bdrm about 950 sqft with one covered parking spot and a butt load of street parking... oh yeah and a crap load of dust and mold **cough***cough** Second time I've gotten sick in 2 weeks *sigh*

good luck and stay out of the presidio if you have bad allergies.

cheers

garrett

You know, how about getting together w/ a few (or more) friends and subletting like a 3-4 bedroom house w/ a 3 car garage? Rent will probably work out to be less than a thousand, living w/ friends and throwing parties every week is a pretty fun deal as a "new adult". Just get some entertainment system, pool table, maybe pool in back if you're lucky, seriously fun times.

I used to rent a house out with three guys when I first got here in DC and it was fun at first but then it gets old after awhile. Right now I have a 1 br in Mountain View and pay $1,200 with and under ground spot and plenty of outside parking. Privacy is bliss screw roommates unless it's my girl.
