FWIW, my setup on the WRX (235/40R17 Hankook RS2s on 17x8" Rota Torques) is 40f/38r on concrete, about 2 PSI less on asphalt. The car would be like driving on ice skates at 50 psi
Sounds like it was a fun event. I had fun in TX, pretty much lapped the field (so to speak) in stock class at that Impala autocross event (not only won stock class, but would have won "prepared" above it and almost trophied in "race" class!). It was a bone stock Impala SS on Falken Azeni RT-615s.....damn good ST tire!

After about 3 auto-x I found this was the best setup that I tried, atleast for my car which is running GC coil sleeves at 325 front and 300 rear, with Koni yellows, sti tophats, and a cusco rear sway w/ kartboy endlinks.

STI-owns-evo : how are you checking to see if those pressures are right? Tire rollover?
What are your alignment settings?
I had a set of S03s on the car earlier this year (for the street, but did run one event on them). Found they were pretty close to the Hankooks as far as pressure.
I'm running what is pretty much an "aggressive street" alignment, but NOT as much front camber as I'd like for strictly autocross (BTW, working on fixing that camber deal for next year
). With enough camber, I suspect it'll drop the front pressure another lb or 2.
Try lower pressures next time, and concentrate on braking early (which will help in not overdriving). I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the results!

Yeah, I did notice that the tires were slightly rolling over at lower pressures, and it seemed I was able to get get rid of a little bit of understeer as I went higher. My alignment is pretty anti- auto-x since Auto Innovations put it almost a 0.00 camber and I was in a rush so couldn't get it redone. (I'm sure that's a good reason for the roll over)
Since I'm in college right now in so-cal I won't be going to any auto-x anytime soon, and my S-03s are dead from the last 2 GGF runs before slush season

No pics of taxicab autocrossing
Good news is that it IS looking at least decently good that I'll have my SS at the Oakland Event! Buddy got the car running again last Friday. I need to find one of those magnetic "taxi" signs to throw on the roof

If you guys don't mind driving a little, SFRSCCA Fresno chapter has an event this Sunday in Atwater. It's only about 1.5 hr drive from east bay area. If you guys are running in STX, it'll be in the afternoon and you'll have to be there before noon. No membership required with us. Member: $25, non-member: $30. Check out the website for directions to get there.

If this was the same event that I'm thinking about, it was a joint effort. Course layout is very subjective and not everyone would be pleased. As for safety, we have not have had any problems so far, and I've been with them for almost 8 years on and off. Our safety stewards are trained by the same people as SFR's.
Nevertheless, the invite is still open.
