turns out i didn't cone that 3rd run... i think the course worker was either running to check or cleaning up someone else's aftermath... 44.2 not too shabby!
Great job bro! When you turned that time I was like this hahah I had to pull a run out my butt just to catch you!

That course was uhhh.....interesting. At least I had some input to open up the switchbacks and entrance into the "chicago box" (you shoulda seen what James had planned for those spots lol I felt bad for the impala) Wish I coulda shifted into first for the switchbacks (lag out the wazoo haha) but I was scared to grenade my transmission. I also shoulda shifted into 3rd for the finish. Looking at the data that woulda gotten me into the 42's easy. Doh!

Karlton : you might be surprised what the Impala will do in tight stuff like that. The "strength" of the car is that it has REALLY good low-end torque (Bruce's car, with stock motor and some bolt-ons, should be in the low 300 RWTQ range from 2000 RPM on up). That was tight enough ithat Bruce could run all of those switchbacks in 1st gear despite his 3.73 gears (stock is 3.08). Net result : it'll power out of those tight corners surprisingly well. I used the same effect to do surprisingly well at DeAnza this year in my Impala before the roller rocker came loose and the timers malfunctioned (my time at DeAnza would have been low/mid 51 second based on my split time)

That all said, Round 14 was far from my favorite course (I'm being politically correct ). The Integra does NOT have the best of synchros in it, so lotsa shifting (we went 1-2-1-2-1-2 from start line to finish line!) is not a good thing. Torqueless-wonder cars + many really sharp corners to "power" out of = not good. I think our times and the rest of STS (i.e. we ALL sucked on PAX yesterday) showed it.
