Did you keep at it repeatedly? I would have called it quits after several stalls, lol

^ this, followed by making them keep the throttle at 1-1.5k rpm while in neutral to practice how not to gas it too hard.

Than violently move it back and forth while making car sounds.

Hmmm. I haven't detailed in awhile. I think a good wash and wax is a fair trade. Maybe some gas money also.

Well... some seat time wouldn't hurt.

Hmmm... I need to purchase some parts first... you know... those parts... from that one guy. I think you know him well.

Is Kevin any good at detailing though?
I guess. I consider myself as good as the average joe.

Totally agree! I taught my fiance in my STI doing the same thing. I think repeating this over and over is the best as well. Teaches a few touch points, clutch engagement point, when you would finally need to apply gas, and we all know this is the hardest part to learn when learning to drive a manual transmission.

I would basically get her to go into first rolling without gas, drive then go into neutral, stop, and repeat over again. After about 50 times of this the person gets the hang of it. I did not even bother worrying about when she needed to learn to shift or any of that. Basically just get into first and out. Over and over and I find doing this over a week or two will usually seal the deal for learning. I also kept the driving session to about 30 mins, because we know it can get frustrating stalling every min.

Do the same thing for reverse as well!
