I recommend downloading the Console mode and choosing to see the advance preferences. You can change your status update time as well as how much CPU stuff you can donate.

If you have a x1600, x1800, x1900 series card, you can get the special GPU version which will spit out things faster.

true this will use "idle cycles" but it will make your power bill increase like mad.

haha... i've played around with something like this LONG time ago, like 7 years ago or something. very cool idea still...

 

Yeah. I've been running it for awhile. The peeps at Stanford just developed a GPU and a SMP version. They say that the SMP version will be about 4 or 5 times faster than the single core version, while the GPU version will be about 20x or 30x faster.

Hatteroo, no money scheme here. I run the console more or less the whole day. Check out the site. It is an interesting read.
