You can organize Mt. Hammy if you'd like, but remember what it is.
This is still BAIC... the organizer is different... previous years it was Daniel (not sure if he did all 7)... This year, It's me. I don't want to cut any corners or do anything half *** on this... It's got to be done right...

This year it will be loosely associated to Mt Hammy. Yes Hammy is where the roots are. But this is going to be a little different, Hence Mount Hamilton 2008.

Example:
Kinda like Guitar Hero... Guitar hero II was created by Harmonix and published by Red Octane... Guitar Hero III was created by Neversoft but still published by Red Octane... Both released by the same company but were created by two different entities... yet both titles are in the same series and they both follow the same idea.
I just want to do it right.

lol either way, I don't think you should change the name. I don't think Daniel named each meet MT. HAMMY # and I don't think he planned all of them, just most.

Either way it will be the 8th Subaru Meet at Mt. Hammy, but I do get what you are saying about hosting it your way if you end up hosting it. Just realize the name/meet is bigger than the host.

What would be possible events to have at Mount Hamilton 2008?

I mean what do you guys want?

a band?
contests?

I wanted to look into Astro Jump because we could get a jousting ring, a boxing ring, and a dunk tank from them... don't you guys want to dunk some people?

Keep in mind we are talking about Mount Hamilton 2008... not Mt. Hammy 8... The previous 7 meets were not me... this one will be mine and it will be different.
mmm dunk tank...smelly water...and leather seats...

1. This is Daniel's brain child meet. It all started with about 35 guys in 2001. He's put it on every year in the past.

2. Looks like you are making this meet just like in years past, THE baic meet for the Bay area chapter. So it's been titled and held in that regard, but we've always been open to others chapters joining us.

3. If this looks solid, and you are going to go through with this don't forget to contact Roo about Subaru of America representation. Also, Driven Magazine and SubieSport are possibilities if you wish.

4. Grant park (where we've had it for meets 3-7) has asked us not to be there. Last year Daniel found a way to make it work, you may find much more resistance. You won't know until you call.

I suggest finding another location because:

a) we filled the lot to the brim the past 3 years

b) we kinda aren't wanted there anyways

c) we are always growing as a chapter

I have a place if Grant Park falls through. Just let me know and I'll fill you in.

took a quick look and parking looks to be less then Hamilton and even more far apart.

nothing is stopping anyone from having it at Hamilton. If it works out with Parks people then we are all good.

That's too far south IMHO. If it's truly a BAIC gathering, maybe it should be somewhere more centrally located?

Hey man, I like it. At least there's a body of water nearby to keep the temperatures relatively cool.
